Spring Tides Poetry Tribute Night

Belmont Street, Aberdeen
Thursday 31 May 2012
6.30pm–8pm

Spring Tides Poetry Group was founded by Kenneth Steven, and for many years helped nurture and promote local poetry. Over its time it had three leaders, Kenneth Steven, John Easton and Mark Pithie, all renowned poets. Unfortunately dwindling attendances and the lack of a suitable venue resulted in the group's demise last year. Tonight's event is a tribute to Spring Tides, featuring readings by some of the group's former members including Gerard Rochford, Keith Murray, Mark Pithie, Valerie Faith Irvine-Fortescue, Olivia McMahon and Kenneth Steven, from a special tribute booklet The Mirror and the Inkwell (Malfranteaux Concepts, £5) — a lasting memento of a vibrant, influential, once popular poetry group.
